The Day That I Became A Crippled Limper

Once upon a time, I decided to hike a mountain.
And I totally made it all the way up and all the way down, and it was totally fine. I came home, made myself a frozen pizza, and then... all of the sudden, after the adrenaline wore off, it was like my leg was broken at the hip! According to my self-diagnosis that I made using the internet, I have a sprained hip flexor.

I iced it for a little while. But, I live in a college apartment, and we don't really have tons of ice, so I had to make do with a bag of frozen cheese that I have, and let me tell you... it turned out to be like That Awkward Moment When You're Icing Your Leg With Frozen Cheese And Then It Melts All Over Your Leg...

No but really, I can't lift my leg higher than three inches without my hip feeling like it's falling out and my leg is falling off.

This was funny at first. Now, it's just really inconvenient. I can't even get in my own bed.

Remember the stairs of death? Yeah, I had to limp up those twice today.

And even little things, like sleeping. No matter which way I turned last night, I was putting some kind of pressure on that pulled muscle, and I was waking up every few hours so I could change positions.

Don't worry though, I've received lots of sympathy from my roommate. She was gone all weekend when it happened, but last night I won a lot of pity points when she got back.

Murphy's Law

Murphy's Law is defined by Wikipedia as the law that states "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." It's kind of like karma getting back at you for not being prepared... for EVERYTHING.

And no matter what you do to try and fight it... Murphy always wins. Really though, who does Murphy think he is? Who authorized him to do what he does? Where does he get his powers from? Did he go to school for this? Like what the heck, Murphy.

But like seriously though. He wins in every category of life.

All My Friends Are GOING on Missions

well, pretty much everybody has heard by now that they lowered the age for everyone to go on their mission.
And now everybody and their all their roommates/brothers/sisters/friends/acquaintances are all going on missions within this next year.
This huge change comes with a lot of questions... What will happen to BYU campus until this all evens out?

What will happen for those who have already gotten back from their mission or are too young to leave yet, and are still at BYU??

It will definitely change everyone's opinion on writing letters, because roles will be reversed...

And what will happen to the MTC???

More importantly... who's still going to get married this year!?!!!

Well, one thing is for sure... Facebook will be the same as last year each Wednesday.

Everything's gonna change pretty dang quick. The world better watch out, because we're coming for them!

The People You Don't Want to Sit Next to in Class

Once upon a time, on your typical day, you wake up, get ready for class, pack all the stuff you need, and walk on to class in a timely manner. You arrive a few minutes before class starts, find an open seat, sit down, and wait for class to start. Being an innocent student, thirsting for knowledge, you don't really think about who you are sitting by... unless they make you think about it... in which case, you then realize that there are some people in particular that you don't want to sit near at all.
Like the couple that flirts loudly all throughout class.

Or the people who dramatically don't understand what's going on.

And let's not forget those who are not interested in learning, and only their MRS degree.

Beware of the ones that don't pay attention, because as a result of their inattention, they'll be asking you to catch them up.

Now, you can't really do anything about this one because they come to you, and force you to be subject to their disruptive behavior...
I can understand before class starts... but seriously... if you're planning on being 20 minutes late to class... why go through all that trouble to get a chair?
And these are the people that you don't want to sit by, because they're detrimental to your learning experience. I'm sure they're all still good people. But you don't want to next next to them in class.
